Pinkfairies – Clarkia pulchella – Added to USWildflowers Database

Pinkfairies, a native species, has been added to the USWildflowers database (06/23/2010.)  Scientific name is Clarkia pulchella.  This plant also is known by the common names Ragged Robin,  Deerhorn Clarkia, Beautiful Clarkia.  Photo below was taken Boise National Forest near Horseshoe Bend, Idaho on 06/17/2010.

Lewis’ Mock Orange – Philadelphus lewisii – Added to USWildflowers Database

Lewis’ Mock Orange, a native species, has been added to the USWildflowers database (06/18/2010.)  Scientific name is Philadelphus lewisii.  This plant also is known by the common names Indian Arrowhead and Syringa.  Syringa is the state wildflower of Idaho.  Photo below was taken Boise National Forest near Horseshoe Bend, Idaho on 06/17/2010.

Ballhead Waterleaf, a native species, has been added to the USWildflowers database (06/18/2010.)  Scientific name is Hydrophyllum capitatum.  A variety of this plant also is known by the common name Alpine Waterleaf.  Photo below was taken Boise National Forest near Boise, Idaho on 06/15/2010.

Payette Beardtongue – Penstemon payettensis – Added to USWildflowers Database

 

Payette Beardtongue, a native species, has been added to the USWildflowers database (06/16/2010.)  Scientific name is Penstemon payettensis.  This plant also also goes by the common name Payette Penstemon.  Photo below was taken Boise National Forest near Horseshoe Bend, Idaho on 06/15/2010.

Yellow Avalanche Lily – Erythronium grandiflorum– Added to USWildflowers Database

Yellow Avalanche Lily, a native species, has been added to the USWildflowers database (06/10/2010.)  Scientific name is Erythronium grandiflorum.  This plant also also goes by the common name Glacier Lily.  Photo below was taken Boise National Forest near Boise, Idaho on 06/08/2010.

Large-flowered Triplet-lily – Triteleia grandiflora – Added to USWildflowers Database

Large-flowered Triplet-lily, a native species, has been added to the USWildflowers database.  Scientific name is Triteleia grandiflora.  This plant also also goes by the common names Douglas’s Triteleia and Douglas’s brodiaea, since it was originally collected by David Douglas and classified in the genus Brodiaea.  Photo below was taken Boise National Forest near Boise, Idaho on 06/09/2010.

White Mariposa Lily – Calochortus eurycarpus – Added to USWildflowers Database

White Mariposa Lily, a native species, has been added to the USWildflowers database (06/09/2010.)  Scientific name is Calochortus eurycarpus.  This plant also also goes by the common name Star Tulip.  Photo below was taken at Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge near Nampa, Idaho.
