Silverleaf Phacelia – Phacelia hastata – Added to USWildflowers Database

Silverleaf Phacelia, a native species, has been added to the USWildflowers database (09/04/2010.)  Scientific name is Phacelia hastata.  Other common names are Timberline Phacelia, Mountain Phacelia.  Photo below was taken in the Boise National Forest near Boise, Idaho on June 7, 2010.

Flowering Spurge – Euphorbia corollata – Added to USWildflowers Database

Flowering Spurge, a native species, has been added to the USWildflowers database (08/30/2010.)  Scientific name is Euphorbia corollata.  Check out this really interesting plant. It is also is known by the common names Blooming Spurge and Emetic Root.  Photo below was taken in Haywood County, NC on July 12, 2010.

Great Ragweed, a native species, has been added to the USWildflowers database (08/29/2010.)  Scientific name is Ambrosia trifida.  This plant also is known by the common names Buffalo Weed, Horseweed, Giant Ragweed, and Tall Ambrosia.  Photo below was taken in Walker County, Georgia on August 28, 2010.

Large-Flowered Trillium – Trillium grandiflorum – Added to USWildflowers Database

Large-Flowered Trillium, a native species, has been added to the USWildflowers database (08/27/2010.)  Scientific name is Trillium grandiflorum.  This plant also is known by the common names Great White Trillium and White Trillium.  Photo below was taken near Tray Mountain in White County, Georgia on May 1, 2010.

Common Fiddleneck, a native species, has been added to the USWildflowers database (08/24/2010.)  Scientific name is Amsinckia menziesii.  This plant also is known by the common names  Menzie’s Fiddleneck and Rancher’s Fiddleneck.  Photo below was taken in the Boise Foothills of Ada County, Idaho on June 7, 2010.
