I came across the most beautiful appalachian rose walking near the banks of Carters Lake in northern GA. I also came across 3 while walking from my house down to the lake. Such a wonderful find !!!!
Not extinct in North Carolina! I just found some in Pasquotank County! It is gorgeous!
I found this growing on my property in Mentone, AL. It is beautiful. We have quite a number of wildflowers in our woods and around the natural springs that abound.
I found this along lofton creek in Florida!
I think we saw some at Oak Mountain State Park on July 22, 2021 – a day ago.
I found an Appalachian Rose Gentian plant next to a small wet meadow on our property on Sand Mountain/Flat Rock, Alabama – July 17, 2024. Now I know to protect it and hopefully they will spread here. We are in process of converting some pasture areas back to a native environment. Now that the pasture grasses have been killed, we’re seeing a lot of natives pop up. I so appreciate this site as a great help in identifying our native wildflowers.
