I am curious about something I have found with Mayflowers and mock oranges. I am from Maine originally, and back home both plants are highly, heavenly scented. We moved to upstate South Carolina. My sense of smell is still sharp. Neither flower has ANY discernable scent here. I am 100% certain of identification. Any ideas on what could cause this? I’ve had experience with both plants in multiple locations during their bloom time over the years, and it is always the same, and very disappointing.
