Love that bright red, these are gorgeous!
I just found one of the catchfly plants growing on a woodsy bank in my yard. April 29,2013 Clarksville TN
I love it when these start showing up. We spotted a few on a roadbank near us in the past few days as well. Thanks for the information and for the visit, Martha.

They are awesome and grow in our woods can’t wait to see them every year
We have one Selene Virginica growing at our place in Virginia. How do I help or encourage it to multiply in situ?
I’m not a gardener, so I don’t know much about growing the plants, but the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center usually has some good information – http://www.wildflower.org/plants/result.php?id_plant=SIVI4
Yesterday I found s. virgencia along Wiseman Road (Old Route 105) at about the 3600-foot elevation near Linville Gorge in Western North Carolina. Date: 10/1/2020. It was in full bloom, even though all references describe this as Spring blooming. It looked exactly like the G. Williamson photos posted here.
