Jacqueline D Williamson: September 18, 1928 – June 20, 2014
Jacqueline D Williamson, after a race well run, went home to be with her Savior on June 20 at age 85.
Born Joanne Jacqueline Dugger in Akron, Ohio, Jackie met her husband of 54 years, Earl E Williamson, who preceded her in death, in Stow, Ohio. There were 1946 graduates of Stow High School, and lived many years in Stow. Together with Earl’s parents they ran the family dairy farm in Stow until 1959, and then Jackie and Earl ran another dairy farm in the Rutherford County, NC from 1960 through 1968, after which they returned to Ohio.
Jackie and Earl were faithful Christians. They were among the earliest members of Stow Alliance Fellowship Church in Stow, where Jackie was a deaconess when they returned to Ohio later in life. They belonged to Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Logan Store, NC, and were also early members of Marion Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Marion, NC. Their children went to Mt. Vernon Elementary and R-S Central High schools in North Carolina, in addition to schools in Ohio. Jackie was glad to be part of the wonderful people of Rutherford County, and loved many in return. She is survived by children Lawrence E Williamson of Morganton, NC, Deborah A Williamson of Roanoke, VA, Gerald C Williamson (Cindy) of Flintstone, GA, Donna M Cinti (Steve) of Boise, ID, & Ann Williamson Newton (Todd) of Greenbrier, TN, 10 grandchildren, and 19 great-children, and her sisters-in-law, Dee Williamson and Betty Dugger.
Her children are grateful to the wonderful staff of Summit View Assisted Living in Chattanooga, TN, who loved her well during the many months she was at Summit View, and to the staffs of Hospice of Chattanooga and NHC of Rossville who cared for and comforted her during her final days.
