This Snow Goose was hanging with a flock of Canada Geese on a pond in Daleville, in Botetourt County, VA, last Thursday, Oct. 3.   This is my first Snow Goose.

It mixed with the flock of Canada Geese while on the pond, and when they left, it flew in formation with them.  Snow Geese are apparently not common in western Virginia.  The range map at EBird.org only shows one sighting of a Snow Goose in the vicinity of Roanoke in 2013.  The property owners report that the Snow Goose has not returned since that day.
