I’m pretty fond of Trillium simile, too, but maybe that’s because, due to its limited range, I rarely seem them. Thanks, Mia.
These are almost all pictures of Trillium erectum var. album. The tepals of Trillium simile are wide at the base to the point of overlapping and the leaves are wider in the middle to the edge, as opposed to the leaves in the picture that are wider in the middle to the base.
Thanks for your comment per the photos on the Trillium simile detail page, Chris. I’ll investigate the identification further. I may need to wait until I can get back to the site of the April 2013 photos to smell the flowers. 🙂
