Diodia virginiana is much loved as a food by chickens. My flock find especially the flowers and fruit irresistible.
Is it safe for rabbits to eat?
Apparently it’s a favored food for gopher tortoises, and other plants in the genus are eaten by cattle, birds, and turkeys. I’d guess that it is safe for rabbits.
Is this an edible weed? and if so what parts? and nutritional benefits if you know?
I don’t have any personal knowledge of edibility of Virginia Buttonweed, and couldn’t find any information in a quick Google search on the subject.
