The “Index” on USWildflowers.com is a list of species ordered by plant family. Until now, it was purely a list of all species in the USWildflowers database.
Now that list can be restricted to those species (and families) found only in a specific state. To get that list, use the state reference pull-down available near the bottom of most pages and go to the state reference list. The right-hand column on the reference list page now includes a hotlink to the “Family Index for ” – and the state you have selected. On the new family index page, if you select the family name hotlink, it will present thumbnails for that family – but only for that specific state.
Here’s a link to an example page – http://uswildflowers.com/stateref.php?State=MN
To get back to the family list for all states, just use the link at the top of each page – “Index for All States.”
