Hairy Bittercress – Cardamine hirsuta – Added to USWildflowers’ Database

Thanks to this data base, I have finally identified Hoary Bittercress. It is taking over large areas of my lawn. Any suggestions other than Roundup to get rid if it? I live in Baltimore County, MD.

Ann – It’s been pretty rampant on my property this year as well. I’m not a gardener, and try to use chemical weedkiller very sparingly, but I enjoy pulling some weeds, so I’ve been going around pulling them up. Fortunately the roots seem to stay right at the surface and they pull up easily – at least in loose soil. I haven’t tried pulling them in hard, dry soil.
