The attached link also needs to be included in this description of this “wildflower,” as it is an invasive species that can completely take over a garden and large areas of established native prairie. It is also extremely difficult to eradicate.

Note that the article you reference does not mention Equisetum laevigatum specifically; it references three other species in the genus which have a greater reputation for “aggressive behavior.” Also, a species that might be particularly weedy in some areas may not be weedy in other areas.
