Fireweed – Chamerion angustifolium – Added to USWildflowers Database

Fireweed, a native species, has been added to the USWildflowers database (08/14/2010.)  Scientific name is Chamerion angustifolium.  This plant also is known by the common names Narrow-leaf fireweed and Willow Herb.  Photo below was taken at Split Rock Lighthouse on the North Short of Lake Superior in MN on  08/03/2002.
