Diodia virginiana is much loved as a food by chickens. My flock find especially the flowers and fruit irresistible.

Apparently it’s a favored food for gopher tortoises, and other plants in the genus are eaten by cattle, birds, and turkeys. I’d guess that it is safe for rabbits.

I don’t have any personal knowledge of edibility of Virginia Buttonweed, and couldn’t find any information in a quick Google search on the subject.
