Found one in Michigan, is this possible?
Unlikely to be Trillium maculatum. Michigan does, however, have two very similar trilliums – Trillium recurvatum (Prairie Trillium) and Trillium sessile (Sessile trillium.) Both of those are Threatened in Michigan, and thus are protected species.
I have mixed feelings about Trilliums but this one is delightful.
Believe found in southwest Missouri. Can I send you pics to identify?
There are similar sessile Trillium found in Missouri. Unfortunately due to other projects I won’t have the time necessary to research those species.
