Thank you for helping me confirm this native scrub. I’d like to add that in my yard, Northampton County, NC, this plant is an evergreen with very fragrant blossoms in mid to late May. The blooms only appear where the plant gets adequate sun and only on old growth, but make beautiful vase arrangements, if no one is sensitive to the strong, but pleasant fragrance.
