Your Database lists the Trailing Trillium as only growing in AL, GA and TN. you need to include South Carolina as I recently found them growing in my fields. Please feel free to contact me to verify if needed.

I found one growing in the woods in Belmont NC. I can send a picture if you’d like or if you need it for verification.

A truly decumbent Trillium would certainly be an unusual find in North Carolina. There are a number of very similar upright, sessile-flowered Trilliums known in the area, though.

I have two of these in my yard in Charleston and they’ve come back annually for over 20 years. We recently found a very large patch in a neighboring yard that covers several square feet.
I make sure my lawn care folks know not to harm them.
