Mountain Myrtle Changed from Leiophyllum buxifolium to Kalmia buxifolia
Based on studies in 1996 and 2002 the species formerly known as Leiophyllum buxifolium has been reclassified into the Kalmia genus (the one containing Mountain Laurel) as Kalmia buxifolia. The USWildflowers database has now been updated to reflect this change. Click on that new scientific name for more information and a photo.
