Thanks Gerry! Your excellent photo and supporting info helped me zero in on the ID of the large-flowered leafcup I found growing on the margins of a tidal marsh area near the banks of the Pamlico River. I have dozens of these in two small areas. When they came into full bloom a couple of weeks ago, we were visited by an unusually large number of dragonflies, butterflies and several types of bees. I hope these will come back nicely next year and I am looking for information to see if there is anything specifically I can do for this wildflower to ensure its return and survival.

    Great site!
    David
