Slender Yellow Wood Sorrel – Oxalis dillenii – Added to USWildflowers’ Database

Slender Yellow Wood Sorrel, a native species, has been added to the USWildflowers database (05/27/2013.)     These are growing wild in my yard in Hattiesburg MS. I also saw them last spring in Pennsyvlania, near the Delaware border. They’re so pretty. I think these are edible (?).

      I enjoy eating the leaves of Oxalis occasionally. They do contain a substance that is reportedly toxic in large quantities, but from what I hear you’d have to eat a LOT of Oxalis for it to have an impact on most people.
