Houndstongue – Cynoglossum officinale – Added to USWildflowers Database

Hound’s Tongue, an introduced, non-native species, has been added to the USWildflowers database (06/27/2010.)  Scientific name is Cynoglossum officinale.  This plant also is known by the common name Gypsyflower.  Photo below was taken Boise National Forest near Horseshoe Bend, Idaho on 06/17/2010.

Yellowbells – Fritillaria pudica – Added to USWildflowers Database

Yellowbells, a native lily species, has been added to the USWildflowers database (06/28/2010.)  Scientific name is Fritillaria pudica.  This plant also is known by the common namesYellow Fritillary, Yellow Missionbells,  Gold Bell.  Photo below was taken Boise National Forest near Boise, Idaho on 06/08/2010.

Pinkfairies, a native species, has been added to the USWildflowers database (06/23/2010.)  Scientific name is Clarkia pulchella.  This plant also is known by the common names Ragged Robin,  Deerhorn Clarkia, Beautiful Clarkia.  Photo below was taken Boise National Forest near Horseshoe Bend, Idaho on 06/17/2010.

Lewis’ Mock Orange – Philadelphus lewisii – Added to USWildflowers Database

Lewis’ Mock Orange, a native species, has been added to the USWildflowers database (06/18/2010.)  Scientific name is Philadelphus lewisii.  This plant also is known by the common names Indian Arrowhead and Syringa.  Syringa is the state wildflower of Idaho.  Photo below was taken Boise National Forest near Horseshoe Bend, Idaho on 06/17/2010.
